Here’s your easy checklist for a successful day on the water, with tips on where to grab last-minute gear or supplies right here at the marina.

 

1. Fishing Gear

• Rods and reels suited to your target catch

• Tackle box with hooks, sinkers, lures, and extra line

• Live bait (like shrimp or squid) or artificial lures

• Valid Texas fishing license

Need bait or tackle? Visit our Marina Store or Fuel Dock for live bait, frozen bait, tackle, and gear.
Booking a trip? Many of our Charters provide gear as part of your package.

 

2. Sun Protection

• High SPF sunscreen (available at the ship store)

• Polarized sunglasses to cut glare

• Hat or cap

• Lightweight, UV-protective clothing

3. Clothing & Footwear

• Quick-dry, moisture-wicking clothes

• Non-slip shoes or deck boots

• Rain jacket (Gulf weather changes quickly)

 

4. Food & Drinks

• Water (bring more than you think you need)

• Easy snacks like fruit, protein bars, or sandwiches

• Cooler with ice for food, drinks, or storing your catch

5. Safety & Comfort

• First aid kit (include seasick meds if needed)

• Personal flotation device (PFD)

• Dry bag for phones or valuables

• Towel and extra change of clothes

6. Tools & Tech

• Marine GPS or compass (for private boaters)

• Charged phone in a waterproof case
